# Models

Pick a model with `model` in the init body of [`POST /v2/live`](/api-reference/v2/live/init/).

Without `model`, a session runs on your account's default model.

## Features by model

- solaria-3: Multilingual, with automatic language detection; the only model that translates. Languages: 29.
- solaria-1: Gladia's multilingual model: 99 languages and Cantonese, detected or set. Languages: 99.
- trantoria-1: The lowest latency: transcripts within a fraction of a second. About 40 languages, English and Spanish included: set the language spoken. Languages: about 40.

A session that asks a model for a feature it does not run (translation on `solaria-1`, for example) finds no model to
serve it: `POST /v2/live` answers `500` with `no inference endpoint available`. Check the table before you combine a
model and a feature.

## Latency profiles

Each model trades latency for accuracy with a **latency profile**: `fast`, `medium`, `balanced` or `precise`. Add it
to the model's name, or set it alone with `profile`:

`fast` gives the earliest partial and final transcripts, `precise` the most accurate ones. Your account may have a
default profile; a session that names one uses its own.

## Choosing

- **Voice agent**: `trantoria-1-fast` or `solaria-3-fast`, with [end-of-turn detection](/live/end-of-turn/).
- **Meeting notes, call analytics**: `solaria-3` or `solaria-1` with `balanced` or `precise`, and
  [diarization](/features/speaker-diarization/) or one channel per speaker.
- **Live captions in several languages**: `solaria-3` with [translation](/features/translation/).
